Rainbow Bridge Wins an AIA Long Beach/South Bay Design Award

Today, 13 is an auspicious number.

We're proud to share that Rainbow Bridge has been recognized with a Merit Award by the AIA Long Beach/South Bay Chapter.

Since its 2017 completion, the "Custom Bridge Built on a Caltrans Budget," has received a total of 13 architecture and engineering awards.

Speaking to the design, the AIA Long Beach/South Bay jury remarked:

"This project is a game-changer in terms of elevating the potential of infrastructure and accommodating all sorts of important things that break t1he paradigm. The bridge elevates the potential of structure, showcasing a design medium that should be in any architect’s wheelhouse. While many of these types of structures are often solely designed by an engineer and gruelingly awful, this example, in contrast, is sophisticated and joyful. There is great potential in the sectional qualities of the design. Its transformation at night creates a whimsical public space."
